America needs self-sustaining solutions to
power cleaner energy. We’re answering the call.
National Security
Reliable and ethically sourced battery metals are essential for the future of the United States to reduce its reliance on metals from conflict zones and other countries.
Our country needs these metals to manufacture lithium-ion batteries for powering electric vehicles and energy storage systems. That’s why we’re working to create a sustainable global supply chain for battery metals.
Abundant Supply
Our mine holds an estimated 114 million pounds of recoverable cobalt, likely making it the largest such reserve in North America; 194 million pounds of recoverable copper; and 174 million pounds of recoverable nickel.
This excludes the battery recycling division that will handle lithium. We’re committed to reliable, on-time delivery of clean and ethically produced cobalt, nickel, copper and lithium that will support the advancement of America’s renewable energy resources.
Environmental
We implement technologies and processes that minimize the impact on the environment, such as pollution prevention measures, resource recovery activities, and other environmental best practices.
Diverting end-of-life batteries from landfill to sustainable resource recovery.
Protecting land, air, and water resources.
Collaborating across the supply chain to implement the highest environmental standards.
Maintaining the integrity of our facilities to avoid environmental incidents.
Governance
We integrate strong governance and risk management oversight across all aspects of our business. For instance:
Creating an ethical, secondary source of critical battery materials through resource recovery
Complying with all applicable environmental, health and safety laws, regulations and standards in the jurisdictions we operate
Providing reliable and transparent data that guides our mitigation strategies on risks and opportunities
Promoting our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices through effective leadership, communication, management systems, training and accountability
What We Do
We’re working to reduce America’s dependence on fossil fuels, by recycling, reclaiming and processing crucial metals to power a circular energy supply chain.
